After the first meeting of the coordinators of the project „Child Rights in the stories and practice“ in which the project, its objectives as well as the action plan have been presented and adopted by the present local coordinators and the project team. At this meeting the criteria for selecting participants in all project activities have been set and the Memorandum of Understanding between all 8 organizations involved in the project has been signed.
The next activity in this 18-months project was the Training of trainers on Child rights and the Third Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child – OP3 CRC, which was held in early June for 3 days in the presence of 16 participants. In addition to topics that included an introduction to the concept of child rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the participants had the opportunity to process some special rights under the Convention. Also, the training mentioned First and Second optional protocol while special attention was paid to the Third optional protocol and mechanisms for the protection of child rights at the local and national levels. The aim of the training was to increase the level of the participants’ knowledge in these areas and develop the skills of workshop facilitation with groups of children and young people. What was the greatest benefit during the training is that the participants created a set of workshops that will be incorporated in the manual and in autumn 2016 be implemented 8 towns with groups of children.
